The Four Fundamental Skills of TAG Wrestling
Stance
Develop a strong, balanced foundation to initiate and execute dynamic moves with power and control.
Motion
Learn fluid, agile movements to outmaneuver opponents and gain the upper hand through quick reactions and strategic positioning.
Level Change
Master the art of changing levels to create unexpected openings, surprise your opponent, and seize advantageous positions.
Penetration
Develop the explosive power and precise timing required to drive through your opponent's defenses and score points.
The Rules of TAG Wrestling
Engage
The wrestlers begin in the center of the mat, standing shoulder-to-shoulder, ready to compete for the tags.
Compete
The objective is to swiftly and skillfully remove your opponent's colored tag, earning points to win the match.
Respect
Regardless of the outcome, the wrestlers shake hands at the start and end of the match, promoting sportsmanship and camaraderie.
- The core principle of TAG wrestling is to gain possession of your opponent’s tag.
- The two tags are attached to the wrestlers’ back legs using a velcro strap, making them easily removable.
- The tags are colored red and blue to distinguish the wrestlers.
- The match duration is two minutes, with the first wrestler to gain two tags declared the winner.
- If the match is tied after two minutes, a sudden death scenario is enacted, where a single tag removal or step out of the marked area results in a loss.
